Why are we here?
Our members view the club as a vehicle for creating action. Our members want to be people of action. The need for professional development is also a major driver for why people are involved in Rotaract.
Our members want meetings to be purposeful and be more than just a check-in style event. However, our members also see the socialising and check-in that happens during a Rotaract Meeting a clear element of our club and an integral part of our offering to members and to our club culture. |
What we do?
Rotaract has an object of Help – Learn – Enjoy and so will our meetings. We operate on a cycle wherein a period of 3 meeting, the following is achieved:
HELPHighlighting our ongoing projects and focus areas as a club alongside allocating time to engage with hands-on projects, such as Steptember, Clean-up Australia Day and tree planting. These meetings will also accommodate for project planning, adapting to our members’ skills and passions to drive outcomes like with The Food Insecuirty Project, our Reconciliation Action Plan, and the Christmas Lunch/ Present Drive |
CLUB PROJECTS |
To keep our members connected, even when they are unable to actively volunteer,
- The Secretary will also produce a bi-monthly newsletter, called Rotarecall. This aims to be highlighting what we are doing and how people can get involved.
Black Lives MatterSalisbury City Rotaract Club make an important statement, regarding the Black Lives Matter movement. A message about equality, equity and human rights. A message that says we are here and we stand with Indigenous People and people of colour in our community. This statement paves the way for a Cross-Year Project connecting with our community and collaborating with members of our community who are Indigenous and other people of colour. A raised fist is used as a symbol of unity and solidarity with oppressed people and been used across all of Europe since 1917 for supporting various causes.

Let's talk about... Climate ChangeSalisbury City Rotaract Club, with our friends from Salisbury Youth Council, have been working on the Let's talk about... Climate Change Youth Forum. This project involved hosting a forum in December 2021, where 30 young people from the City of Salisbury had their say about what Climate Action looks like at a local, state and federal government level. In June 2022, the team published a report and provided a deputation to Salisbury Council. You can read about the deputation, review the report and learn about the outcome below.
