Let's Talk About... Climate Change Youth ForumSalisbury City Rotaract Club, with our friends from Salisbury Youth Council, have been working on the Let's talk about... Climate Change Youth Forum.
This project involved hosting a forum in December 2021, where 30 young people from the City of Salisbury had their say about what Climate Action looks like at a local, state and federal government level. In June 2022, the team published a report and provided a deputation to Salisbury Council. You can read about the deputation, review the report and learn about the outcome below. |

Special thanks to our guest speaker PhD. Candidate Amy Tschrin and to the Salisbury East Highschool who are selling plants that the students have made to go towards funding for building their garden. This project was overseen by Lazaras Panayiotou and Damien Walker, YC Members Emily Wiliams, Sofina Le and Sharif Narouzi were instrumental to the organisation and running of this event.

The Deputation to Salisbury Council
On the 27 June 2022, Emily Williams represented Youth Council and Rotaract to provide the finding of our 2021 Youth Forum. This presented the report and asked council to take action.
At this meeting Councillor Chad Buchanan moved a motion, whilst Councillor Adam Duncan seconded that Salisbury Council:
1. Thanks Emily Williams for the report on the outcomes collected from the Salisbury City Rotaract and the City of Salisbury Youth Council. 2. Requests that staff bring back a report to the Policy and Planning Committee advising what strategies the City of Salisbury has in place in relation to the recommendations outlined in the Deputation report from Ms Emily Williams.
