Salisbury City Rotaract Stands with the LGBT+ Community
Salisbury City Rotaract Club Inc. has always strived to be an all-inclusive club and take great pride in our members and their diversity not just in our club but in the wider community. No matter where you are from, who you are or what you identify as you will be welcome and be treated equally. Each member of our club brings their own unique life experiences, this enriches our club and has enabled its success.
Our future as a club is one who strives to echo the message of “Making a Difference”. In society, we see there are dividing factors amongst the wider community, we choose to look past this and wish to make it clear that we are in the mindset of metaphorically building bridges rather than walls.
This is why we as a club choose to publicly support and stand with the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT+) Community. This statement supports our mission to “promote better relationships with all people worldwide through a framework of friendship and service” and “Come as you are” being part of our key motto.
As a community organisation and as young leaders is it up to us to play a role in helping make effective change and our statement of acceptance is just one small way that we hope to help bring about this.
For those of you who may be facing discrimination or struggling to figure out who you may be, we want you to know that you are not alone and that you have our support.
