2015/16: Be A Gift To The World

Rotaractors, Rotarians, and Guests. Fortunately for us all, this year there will be no tea puns in the presidential speech.

I would just like to say how indescribably proud I am to have been the president of this club, a club that has changed the template of Rotaract meetings and achieved so much in the past 3 years.

This year, I spent most of my time in and out of psychiatric care, but the one thing that always went smoothly was how this club continued to run without me and that would not have been so if it weren’t for our secretary, webmaster, and glue that keeps us all together. Damien Walker is the heart and soul of Salisbury City Rotaract and I’d like for everyone to give him a round of applause for his efforts and devotion to the Rotary cause.

Our club has now raised $2000 for the NDVS through our partnership with Mawson lakes rotary, the numbers continue to grow for how many people attend our free Christmas lunch here at the club, we volunteered for crazy hat day, daffodil day, the Christmas pageant, Australia Day, ran a Movember Ball at Twelve25 Salisbury Youth Enterprise Centre, 12 of us had the pleasure of attending the district conference in the Barossa thanks to rotary members who sponsored us, and there have been many more things that this club has contributed to, to improve our community and our world.

Without the amazing board,  I have, I wouldn’t have been able to get through this presidential year with such ease. Could you please stand when I say your name so everyone can see how amazing you all look;
  • Christopher Mark – Immediate Past President
  • Benjamin Ryder – Vice President
  • Joshua Lay – Treasurer
  • Damien Walker – Secretary, Webmaster, and Glue Stick
  • Bianca Kerry – Guest Speaker Coordinator
  • Abi Davey – Member Coordinator
  • And Andrew Chapman – Club Representative for The District Committee

Now, I will leave you all in the capable hands of Ben, who is an incredible friend, teacher, and volunteer. I have complete confidence that Ben will use his presidential year to achieve so many more things for our club. He has good plans and intentions that I know will get him far in rotary and in life.

Thank you 🙂 xx
